About the Role

The Canadian Press is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Content Operations team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing analytical tools and processes to gain valuable insights into our news content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data analysis tools and processes to support business decision-making
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient delivery of content to customers
  • Monitor and troubleshoot categorization and metadata issues to optimize content delivery
  • Analyze metadata to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to maximize its potential
  • Build and maintain dashboards to track content production and distribution metrics
Requirements
  • Experience with data analysis and data-feed transformation
  • Proficiency in querying databases and manipulating data
  • Proficiency in Python, Jupyter, and other standard data analysis tools and frameworks
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports for non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of digital supply chains and data pipelines
  • Familiarity with JSON and XML
  • Familiarity with APIs and helper tools such as Postman
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
