Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Mr. Diesel Inc. This role involves working with a variety of heavy-duty machinery and ensuring optimal performance through skilled maintenance and repair.

Employment Details

Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a trades certificate or diploma in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor apprentices in the trade.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment to identify issues.
  • Utilize computerized and manual testing tools to assess repair needs.
  • Make adjustments and repair or replace faulty components.
  • Conduct performance tests on repaired machinery to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Execute repair tasks on heavy trucks and related equipment.
  • Service various attachments and tools.
  • Carry out other maintenance duties as required.
Certifications and Training
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training
Specialization Areas

The candidate should have expertise in:

  • Diesel Engine Repair: Including exhaust systems, air conditioning systems, and major internal repairs.
  • Powered Equipment Repair: Such as hydraulic attachments, compressors, pumps, and industrial lift trucks.
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Covering transmissions, vehicle suspensions, and brake systems.
Safety and Security
  • Must be bondable.
  • Driving record and drug tests will be conducted.
Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires:

  • Attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 45 kg or 100 lbs).
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks.
