Job Description

The Senior Track Design Engineer will oversee the development of project design and construction plans for large-scale transportation projects.

In this role, you will lead the design efforts, creating high-quality engineering drawings and specifications, and independently manage the track design process to produce accurate construction documents. A strong understanding of construction methods and the ability to translate engineering drawings and specifications into the constructed product is essential.

You will work closely with project leadership and other key disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement track design plans for large-scale transportation projects
  • Lead and manage track design teams to produce high-quality engineering drawings and specifications
  • Monitor and manage track design activities to ensure compliance with established scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Prepare and submit final plans and reports for approval
  • Collaborate with contractors and internal staff to identify cost-effective track solutions
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside the discipline, and with support services staff
  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in track design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Current Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario
  • Past track design experience on large multi-discipline Design Build projects
  • Strong technical writing, computer, and communication skills
