Position Title: Communications Lead

Reports To: Director, Creating Shared Value

Location: Calgary, AB

Overview:

The Communications Lead is responsible for spearheading the communications strategy that aligns with the Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiative. This role will collaborate with various internal teams to facilitate effective communication both within the organization and with external stakeholders. The individual will take ownership of the CSV brand, ensuring a cohesive message throughout the organization, enhancing the employer brand, managing social media channels, and crafting engaging narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

In a dynamic environment like CSV Midstream, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, adeptly transitioning from strategic planning to hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications Strategy Development
  • Support the creation of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies the 'Creating Shared Value' narrative and elevates critical messaging.
  • Establish and maintain a communications calendar to organize and schedule outreach activities throughout the year, including relevant themes and topics for the company and community, while tracking important industry events.
Storytelling and Content Creation
  • Identify and craft compelling narratives that highlight the company's impact, innovations, and culture.
  • Produce content across various formats such as articles, blog posts, videos, infographics, and podcasts.
  • Engage with employees, customers, and partners to gather and share their stories.
  • Develop and refine the CSV 'voice' to ensure consistent messaging.

To successfully implement the strategy and effectively communicate the CSV narrative, the Communications Lead should possess hands-on experience in areas such as social media management, internal and external communications, corporate branding, promotional material development, employer branding, sustainability reporting, website management, media relations, photography/videography, graphic design, community engagement, and event coordination. The Communications Lead will have access to both internal and external resources to support the tactical aspects of these functions.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in communications, branding, and social media management.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and linguistic precision in crafting the CSV written voice.
  • Innovative and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Accountable and collaborative with a strategic mindset and operational execution skills.
  • Resourceful and cost-effective, with the ability to leverage a strong network of creative professionals as needed.
  • Highly organized to ensure the team meets deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing social media platforms and implementing content management systems.
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design software.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools for tracking and reporting on communication campaigns.
  • Ability to produce multimedia content such as videos and podcasts.
  • Experience with employer branding and employee engagement initiatives.

Please note that this role may involve occasional travel to operational sites, with timing typically aligned with community events and company engagements, requiring some flexibility.
