Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at StandardAero. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machining components for PT6A, JT15D, and PW100 engines, as well as manufacturing tooling, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with detailed manufacturing drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machining of previously manufactured parts to restore specific features to acceptable limits.
  • Manufacturing of tooling, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Manufacture of small components, such as sleeves, in accordance with detail parts drawings.
  • Performing regular cleaning and maintenance of machines and ensuring work areas are clean and free of chips and machine cuttings.
  • Modeling behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.
Qualifications
  • Provincial or inter-provincial license as a machinist or tool & die maker.
  • Understanding of geometric tolerance and ability to read and understand a CMM report.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard measuring instruments.
  • Ability to understand and use all applicable documentation with regard to the machine shop.
  • Entry-level qualifications for an Apprentice Machinist should be block 1 qualified as a machinist from either Holland College or some other institution that is qualified to train apprentices.
Working Environment
  • Awareness of the position's physical demands, including walking to various areas throughout the facility and some heavy lifting.
  • Willingness to wear safety shoes and safety glasses (PPE) and use masks and respirators where applicable.
  • Shift system in operation with overtime required to meet production demands.
