As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the industrialization strategies and processes that support the most efficient, cost-effective, and adaptable materials flows from suppliers through our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:- Industrialization of Supply Chain Processes: Drive the industrialization of supply chain processes, with a focus on upstream supply chain, for the product lines of the Socomec Group.
- Make or Buy Strategy: Define the 'Make or Buy' scheme using cost-benefit analysis to make strategic choices for in-house production or subcontracting.
- Supplier Assessment and Management: Assess and make recommendations on current and potential supplier capabilities and capacities to ensure alignment with the business' short-term and long-term direction.
- Effective Working Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.
- Material Flow Alignment: In conjunction with purchasing and quality teams, align upstream material flows with internal warehousing and manufacturing processes.
- Production Process Adaptation: Collaborate with production teams to adapt production processes to mitigate constraints.
- SOP Documentation: Create and maintain SOP documentation related to the Supply Chain industrialization process.
- Global Industrialization Integration: Integrate the Socomec Group into the Socomec Group global industrialization processes.
- Risk Identification and Resolution: Proactive identification and resolution or escalation of risks in supply chain industrialization strategy.
- Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend and implement changes to processes when appropriate.
- Reporting and Analytics: Work with internal stakeholders to develop and enhance reporting and analytical tools.
- Ad Hoc Support: Support the business with ad hoc reporting and projects as required.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional work experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment with integrated power and power conversion products in various stages of prototyping, commercialization, and production.
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, typically mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing.
- Experience in Engineer-to-Order and Configure-to-Order Manufacturing: Experience working in engineer-to-order, configure-to-order, or custom product manufacturing.
- Certification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing: Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other problem-solving techniques.
- Experience with ISO9001/ISO14001 Environmental and Quality Management Systems: Experience with ISO9001/ISO14001 Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Supply Chain Management Education or Certification: Education or certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g. ASCM (APICS) CSCP/CPIM, ISM CPSM, Supply Chain Canada SCMP, MSCM) or Business Administration a plus.
- Environmental Awareness: An appreciation and passion for mitigating the environmental impacts of manufacturing (products, processes, packaging, recycling, energy conservation, etc.).
- Proven Track Record in Implementing New Processes: Proven track record in implementing new processes, equipment, and tooling.
- Strong Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a drive for problem-solving.
- Collaboration and Communication Skills: Strong collaborator who can engage and communicate effectively with multiple and diverse partners.
- Leadership and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to engage and lead discussions in meetings/team settings.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to balance multiple high-priority tasks and projects concurrently through highly developed organizational and decision-making skills.

- Office Environment: This role is in an office environment, with regular visits to the manufacturing environment.
- Travel Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship; ability to travel to international destinations; must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel (if needed).
