About the Role

Vention Inc is seeking a highly skilled Reliability and Quality Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive reliability and quality strategy that aligns with our company's product development effort and general quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of reliability engineers and quality assurance professionals.
  • Acting as the main reliability and quality stakeholder in design review as part of Vention's product development process, and approving/disapproving progress to the next gate.
  • Reviewing and approving reliability and functional test plans as part of Vention's product development process.
  • Managing the engineering laboratory, maintaining test equipment, and developing standardized test protocols across Vention's portfolio of products.
  • Developing internal capabilities, including MTBF modeling, accelerated life test protocol, etc.
  • Leading root cause analysis for various client support situations.
  • Driving the product quality and reliability feedback loop, working closely with clients, customer success team, and delivery team.
  • Working with the global supplier base to ensure compliance with Vention quality requirements.
  • Developing and documenting Vention's reliability and quality practices & protocols.
  • Executing reliability and validation tests as needed by the ongoing product development program.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define and prioritize reliability and quality focus areas.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in printed circuit boards design for industrial-grade products.
  • ~10+ years of experience in electronics reliability in the context of industrial products.
  • ~ Strong knowledge of certification processes for electrical products (i.e., Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, including FMEA, root cause analysis, MTBF and L10 calculation, and reliability growth testing methods.
  • ~ Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt and build processes from the ground up.
  • ~ Proven leadership skills, with experience building and managing teams.
