EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Opportunity International Canada (OIC) is seeking a passionate and relationship-oriented fundraising professional to take on the role of Director of Philanthropy for the Alberta region.
As a key member of the Philanthropy Team at OIC, the Director will be tasked with managing and expanding a portfolio of significant donors, which encompasses individuals, corporate partners, private foundations, and community organizations. Collaborating closely with the VP of Philanthropy, the successful candidate will devise a regional strategy aimed at nurturing existing donor relationships while also identifying and engaging new potential donors. This role requires the cultivation of genuine and impactful connections that will drive revenue growth.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- CFRE designation is considered an asset.
Experience
- 3-5 years of demonstrated success in not-for-profit fundraising.
- Proven ability to secure major gifts exceeding $10,000 from private donors.
- Highly organized with advanced technological skills, particularly in fundraising software; experience with Raiser's Edge is preferred.
- Experience in establishing new relationships within a region while managing multiple deadlines and achieving objectives.
Knowledge
- Strong financial understanding, including budgeting and basic financial statement comprehension.
- A profound grasp of the organization and cultural philanthropy, employing a proactive, innovative, and entrepreneurial approach to fundraising.
Working Conditions
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed, dictated by donor schedules and fundraising events.
- Willingness to commit to extended hours to meet fundraising targets.
- Flexibility to travel for meetings with potential donors across the region.
- Readiness to travel nationally and internationally as required.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000
