Job Summary

We're seeking a seasoned communications professional to join our Canadian HR Leadership team as Vice President of Communications. As the right-hand person to our Chief People & Culture Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our company's narrative and employee experience, directly supporting the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  2. Manage outcomes in a complex and matrixed organization, bringing a field-first and operations mindset.
  3. Communicate effectively during periods of change to minimize disruption and maintain stakeholder trust.
  4. Build and maintain positive media relations and public relations crisis management to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely coverage of the company.
  5. Protect the company's reputation by proactively addressing key issues and promoting positive storytelling.
  6. Lead a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, direction, and mentorship while fostering an inclusive culture that reflects the company's diversity and values.
  7. Oversee corporate recognition programs, including program management, associate communications, and event planning.
  8. Monitor and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communications and recognition initiatives, making data-driven decisions and enhancements.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of progressive experience in Communications/PR/Marketing, with a passion for sharing stories of the company's business and values through various channels.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or equivalent work experience.
  3. Strong presentation, writing, and content writing skills.
  4. Proven ability to think strategically and drive results-oriented initiatives through complexity.
  5. Understanding and navigation of public policy issues that impact the company's operations or reputation.
