About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Production Specialist to join our team at Baxter's Bakery (Cobourg) Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing dough for a variety of baked goods, including pies, bread, rolls, and sweet treats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough and batters according to recipes or special customer orders, and bake mixed dough and batters to perfection.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of our products meets our established standards, and inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies, and package products for distribution.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Demonstrate strong food safety and handling skills, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a bakery or food production environment
  • Work Setting: Large volume bakery or food processing plant
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced bakery or food processing plant with tight deadlines and overtime required
