Exciting Opportunity for a Veterinary Trainee

Join our dedicated Animal Health Management Team as a full-time Veterinary Trainee. This position offers a unique chance to acquire practical experience in veterinary care within a zoological environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the examination and treatment of various animal species
  • Develop diagnostic and treatment strategies
  • Administer medical interventions
  • Implement preventive health initiatives
  • Monitor and manage zoonotic health concerns
  • Engage in disease training programs
  • Establish and enforce quarantine protocols
  • Support the education of veterinary students
  • Contribute to research projects
  • Review and analyze clinical cases
  • Participate in discussions on relevant literature
  • Stay informed about prevalent wildlife health issues
  • Perform additional duties as necessary

Essential Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience post-graduation
  • Experience with zoo or exotic species is advantageous
  • Must be eligible for veterinary licensing in Manitoba
