Senior Development Engineering Technologist

About the Role:

The District of Saanich is seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineering technologist to join our Engineering Department. As a Senior Development Engineering Technologist, you will play a key role in delivering new municipal infrastructure through development construction and ensuring the proper infrastructure is in place to support development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set servicing requirements and develop conceptual drawings for new developments in the District of Saanich.
  • Meet with owners, developers, and consultants to guide developments from the pre-application phase to construction.
  • Work closely with other municipal departments, such as Parks and Planning, to ensure that developments are aligned with municipal policies and bylaws.
  • Participate in the modernization and streamlining of the development review process, providing feedback as required.

Requirements:

  • Two-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of directly related experience.
  • Registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians BC (ASTTBC).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Personal vehicle available for use as and when required.
  • Conversancy with computer-based engineering applications, including AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
