Position Overview
BMO Financial Group is on the lookout for an Analyst with a solid background in real estate to join our Real Estate Fund team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough due diligence and analyze financial and operational data related to real estate development and value-enhancing investment transactions;
- Create and manage investment models (e.g., DCF, residual value, development, waterfalls) utilizing Argus and Excel;
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis, leveraging external real estate data sources and brokerage reports;
- Review and summarize limited partnership agreements and other joint venture documentation;
- Collaborate with BMO's accounting, legal, and various internal departments;
- Track the performance of the current investment portfolio and execute portfolio-level analysis and forecasting;
- Compile quarterly performance reports for presentation to the Real Estate Fund Board and Investment Committee;
- Develop marketing materials and pitch books for prospective co-investment partners.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, ideally in real estate, finance, economics, commerce, mathematics, or engineering;
- Completion or ongoing pursuit of a master's degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA, AACI) is advantageous;
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling expertise, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Argus Software;
- Familiarity with Canadian residential and/or industrial real estate markets is a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities;
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and multitasking skills;
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail across multiple deadlines;
- Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in areas such as private equity, real estate development, acquisitions, asset management, real estate investment banking, or real estate brokerage.

Pay Structure:
Salaried
The compensation package at BMO Financial Group varies based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role. It may also include performance-based incentives and discretionary bonuses. For part-time roles, salaries will be adjusted based on the number of hours worked.
