Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Plastic Surgery

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Operating Room Nurse to join our team of experienced healthcare professionals in a Plastic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and a strong commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient screening tasks and review medical history and psychosocial status before surgery.
  • Administer non-invasive treatments such as Botox, laser treatments, and chemical peels.
  • Prepare the operating room before procedures and assist with invasive treatments.
  • Monitor patients before and after their surgeries.
  • Discuss patients' procedures with them and explain what they can expect before, during, and after the procedure.
  • Care for patients after procedures to ensure they are healing properly.
  • Provide appropriate care for the wound or surgery site.
  • Support patients and families for the duration of the treatment.
  • Handle cosmetic and reconstructive patients in an unbiased, non-judgmental way.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other team members to ensure all patients' needs are met.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • BScN preferred
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification (required by RN to work PACU)
  • Minimum of two years' experience as an RN in plastic surgery.
  • Certification in plastic surgery nursing may be advantageous.
  • Competency in electronic patient management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Experience in a private surgical centre a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
