Job Summary

MPREX Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. As a Drywall Installer, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure a smooth finish
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet specifications
  • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency for a smooth finish
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate installation
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Commercial and residential drywall installation experience
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical stamina to lift and move heavy drywall sheets
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
