About the Opportunity

QuidelOrtho, a world-leading in vitro diagnostics company, is seeking a highly skilled Field Application Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Sales Account Team, you will be responsible for developing and nurturing strong relationships with external customers to ensure optimum utilization of our products and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

The Role

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) is accountable for providing technical support, demonstration skills, and technical expertise for all QuidelOrtho products throughout the sales cycle. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory settings, QuidelOrtho products, and services, as well as excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot complex system issues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Support (75%)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers at all levels of the laboratory.
  • Perform System Verification studies for new customer installations, including calibration, P&A, and patient correlation.
  • Provide troubleshooting support and training expertise to new and existing customers.
  • Assist customers with linearity, normal, and reportable range verification.
Account Team Support (20%)
  • Support sales team activities via technical product demonstrations, workflow studies, lunch and learn events, conventions, etc.
  • Provide effective and proactive communication to all members of the account team.
  • Manage all territory administrative requirements.
  • Actively solicit competitive information at customer sites and communicate trends, activity, and issues to the account team.
  • Support the development of customer profiles.
Administration (5%)
  • Maintain a safe driving record.
  • Meet or exceed all budgetary targets.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Education: Medical Laboratory Technologist Degree.
  2. Certification: Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) or equivalent province-accredited certification.
  3. Experience: Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience.
  4. Good working knowledge of laboratory settings.
  5. Excellent knowledge of QuidelOrtho products and services.
  6. Good analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  7. Demonstrated ability to conduct adult training and 'train the trainer' programs.
  8. Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
  9. Strong organizational skills.
  10. Strong collaboration skills.
  11. Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Both French and English languages are required.
  12. Travel: Ability to travel to customer sites within their assigned territory, 50% domestic. During training period, travel to US will be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 5 years of laboratory experience.
  2. Diagnostics field technical support experience.
