We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related duties in collaboration with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related duties in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
- Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to diagnostic imaging.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on diagnostic imaging procedures and related topics.
- Graduate of a recognized/accredited North American program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
- Current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) as required for the assigned practice area.
- Active membership in good standing with ARDMS and/or Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (CSDMS).
- Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
- Ability to organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities.
- Ability to promote staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking.
- Ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
