Job Title: Infrastructure Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Planning Specialist to join our team at S.i. Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and executing the migration of our DNS services to a third-party application, ensuring minimal disruption to our operational services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Migrate existing in-house DNS services and data to a third-party application, ensuring minimal disruption to operational services.
  • Transition Windows DNS services for a designated set of devices into the selected third-party application.
  • Provide expert advice on the decommissioning process for existing Solaris servers and migration to Linux-based servers.
  • Assess and advise on the migration or retirement of custom Perl scripts currently running on Solaris servers.
  • Offer in-depth analysis and advice on data transformation and migration strategies supporting the Remedy-to-Helix transition.
  • Collaborate with BMC vendors to determine appropriate data mapping, transformation strategies, and development methodologies for the Ministry's existing BMC Forms.
  • Thoroughly analyze existing DNS data to support planning activities, ensure data integrity, and optimize deployment sequences.
  • Deliver comprehensive electronic and/or hard copies of all project-related materials, including technical and data architecture, migration plans, and any other documentation produced during the contract.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of services, providing expert advice, and enhancing the knowledge base of internal staff.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in DNS migration and Solaris decommissioning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
