Activation Aide Job Description

The Activation Aide plays a vital role in our community, fostering meaningful connections and enhancing the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and plan activities, communicate programs, and oversee the setup and execution of events.
  • Facilitate programs, including small and large groups, and special events that cater to the needs and interests of our residents.
  • Conduct resident assessments, establish goals, and develop interventions based on individual needs and concerns.
  • Document programming activities, including assessments, attendance, progress notes, care plans, and quarterly reviews.
  • Collaborate with other therapy programs, such as pet therapy, music therapy, and art therapy, to connect our residents with the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology, or a related field.
  • Current Standard and/or Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • A valid Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Previous experience in program planning, documentation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to meet provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Competency in Point Click Care, MS Office is an asset.
