Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary financial partner for the Technical Services division, which encompasses Fleet Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Project Management, focusing on operational costs and capital investments.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to develop the business unit's budget and quarterly forecasts, including operational expenses, working capital, and capital expenditures.
  • Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial outcomes with key stakeholders, providing insights into significant variances.
  • Support the business unit in achieving financial targets and objectives through alignment and strategic planning.
  • Establish and track monthly financial KPIs to facilitate strategic discussions within the business unit.
  • Engage in month-end closing processes related to the business unit.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial presentations for review with the business unit.
  • Act on behalf of the VP/CFO to ensure adherence to governance standards and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance precision and alignment with CFO objectives.
  • Ensure continuity between the business unit's budget, actual costs, and estimates for business development activities.
  • Assist in evaluating financial information for business cases and multi-year capital projects.
  • Support year-end audits by providing necessary deliverables and financial insights.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to promote informed decision-making that enhances profitability.
  • Offer financial guidance to the business unit in analyzing trends and identifying opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate education in accounting, CPA, CMA, with a background in cost accounting.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role, such as senior financial analyst or manager.
  • Proven experience in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of professionalism and business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and provide recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, results-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Sound judgment and a high standard of ethics are essential.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel; experience with aviation ERP and Oracle EPM is an asset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Outlook.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires II Clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to access the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
