Position Overview:

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment and ensuring the safety of all personnel and visitors. Your role will encompass a variety of duties, including:

  • Incident Response: Address and report any instances of criminal or suspicious activities, as well as hazardous situations.
  • Access Control: Manage the unlocking and locking of doors and offices, ensuring authorized access only.
  • Visible Security Presence: Provide a uniformed security presence across multiple locations, enhancing customer service and safety.
  • Policy Enforcement: Deter and address prohibited activities such as loitering and smoking.
  • Building Security: Ensure all buildings are secured after hours.
  • Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols using electronic guard tour systems.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Conduct proactive patrols and address any policy violations or facility concerns.
  • Document detailed incident reports for emergencies and daily operations.
  • Respond promptly to security alarms and emergencies, maintaining a calm environment.
  • Monitor and authorize the entry and exit of employees and visitors.
  • De-escalate crises and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related objectives.
  • Manage key, radio, and pager audits effectively.
  • Handle inquiries regarding lost and found items.
  • Report unsafe working conditions across all departments.
  • Provide first aid and medical assistance as required.
  • Respond to various incidents as they arise.
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols.
  • Be prepared for deployment across the region.
  • Possess reliable transportation for work-related travel.
  • Travel may be required during shifts.
Qualifications:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination.
  • Eligibility for Canadian Controlled Goods Program Clearance: Clean Vulnerable Sector Check and Credit Inquiry, along with three professional and three personal references. Must have resided in Canada for the last five years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship status.
  • Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). Candidates without these certifications may participate in Paladin's training program prior to onboarding, with costs covered upon a six-month commitment to the position.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.

Certification Requirements:
Vulnerable Sector Check, Controlled Goods Security Assessment, Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and a valid Ontario Security License.
