Position Overview
The Senior Fire Protection Specialist will play a crucial role in our mission by applying extensive knowledge of fire protection engineering principles. This position involves advising clients and internal teams on the design and evaluation of systems aimed at safeguarding lives and property from fire-related hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and industry standards.
- Conduct performance-based design analyses and collaborate with clients and regulatory authorities to tailor solutions to specific project needs.
- Develop comprehensive design criteria, specifications, and layouts for fire suppression systems, including hydraulic calculations and equipment selection.
- Design specialized fire protection systems, including water mist, foam, and gas-based suppression technologies, while coordinating with other specialists.
- Create detailed installation plans and oversee the engineering review of construction documents and systems testing.
- Participate in project meetings to monitor progress and address any construction-related challenges.
- Evaluate existing facilities for compliance with fire safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare technical reports outlining fire safety issues and recommendations for compliance and enhancements.
- Develop training materials on fire protection and life safety for various stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing technical support and guidance on fire protection standards and practices.
- Be available for emergency support as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Advanced degree in engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering and consulting.
- Professional Engineering License or Limited License is required.
- Strong analytical skills and a commitment to exceptional client service.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
