Young Adult Life Skills Coach (Full Time)
($31.51/Hr.)
This role requires candidates with a comprehensive understanding of health and social factors affecting vulnerable populations. The Life Skills Coach will provide guidance, supervision, and support to young adults participating in the My Way Program. The primary goal is to equip young adults with the skills necessary for independent living, job readiness, and social development. This program is tailored for individuals aged 19-29, focusing on building ongoing support systems and fostering independent living environments. Participants will receive practical training in essential life skills, promoting self-sufficiency as they transition into adulthood. The successful candidate will report directly to the Team Leader.
Qualifications for the Role:
- Diploma in Social Services or related field, or equivalent experience;
- Willingness and ability to engage with at-risk youth;
- Knowledge of community services, resources, and systems;
- Ability to teach and model effective techniques and interventions;
- Experience working with Indigenous communities in a culturally relevant context;
- Certifications: First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Food Safe;
- Ability to pass a criminal record check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to clients;
- Facilitate job readiness and life skills training sessions;
- Coordinate with internal and external community resources;
- Advocate for client-centered issues;
- Perform additional duties as required.
