As the largest independent dealer of Case IH and Case Construction machinery in Canada, RME operates 45 branches dedicated to construction and agricultural equipment across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. You will be responsible for the proficient repair of agricultural machinery and components, ensuring high-quality standards. This role involves working independently on assigned tasks. The Heavy Equipment Technician will: recondition and repair all agricultural equipment components and systems as directed by the branch shop foreman/manager; maintain accurate and timely records for time, parts, supplies, and external purchases related to repairs; care for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles; and communicate professionally with colleagues and clients.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Upholding safety as a primary responsibility Assisting and supporting branches within the region as directed by the Regional Aftermarket Service Manager Engaging with branch staff, customers, and management as a safety advocate Providing assistance to local branches as needed based on their leadership structure Reconditioning and repairing all equipment components and systems as assigned by local branch leadership at customer locations or designated shop sites Keeping accurate records for time, parts, supplies, and external purchases related to repairs Maintaining and caring for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles Communicating professionally with others, both internally and externally Ordering necessary parts and materials for assigned repairs through local parts departments Ensuring all work areas are kept clean and safe Striving for exceptional customer and branch satisfaction Collaborating with the Regional Aftermarket Service Manager, Service Manager, and Foreman to identify and address challenges and areas for improvement in the local area while building customer trust When regional work is unavailable, working from the assigned local RME shop location, with travel on personal time. Keeping the assigned field service truck in optimal condition for timely customer service Travel to non-home branches will be compensated, and expenses for non-home branch support will be billed to the allocated branch. Individual Development Plans and Annual Development Plans will be completed by the Regional Aftermarket Service Manager This role serves as regional support, assisting all branches within the region and may extend to other regions and provinces as workload and conditions necessitate.Job Requirements and Qualifications Include:
Strong technical expertise Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is preferred Familiarity with the agriculture and/or construction sectors Understanding and demonstrated application of health and safety best practices Knowledge of Case IH, Case CE, and New Holland Equipment is advantageousWe provide a competitive compensation package with benefits, including health, disability, and dental coverage, incremental wage increases per company policies, relocation expenses, work boot allowance, tool allowance, and personal days.
