Heavy Equipment Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of heavy-duty equipment mechanics, a commitment to quality workmanship, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections, servicing, and maintenance on a diverse range of mobile and off-road equipment, including trucks, trailers, and other heavy machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair a wide array of mechanical systems, such as engines, steering, braking, drive trains, suspensions, electrical systems, and air conditioning units.
  • Utilize computerized testing equipment to accurately identify faults and malfunctions.
  • Perform adjustments, repairs, and replacements of faulty parts, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications.
  • Execute major repair work as needed, including welding and cutting operations where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with other technicians and supervisors to ensure seamless operation and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports as required.
Qualifications
  • Trade certification or Red Seal designation as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license; Class 3 license preferred.
  • CVIP license.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer testing technologies for diagnostics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and construction equipment systems.
  • Welding and cutting skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery components safely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
