About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical VDC Designer to join our team at Plan Group, Inc. As an Electrical VDC Designer, you will play a critical role in developing detailed electrical installation drawings and collaborating with the project team to ensure efficient and accurate design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed electrical installation drawings in Revit, based on engineering drawings, project specifications, and construction design plan instructions.
  • Interact and collaborate with the project team to develop drawings efficiently and accurately while maintaining time and schedule constraints.
  • Develop drawings showing the necessary details and assemblies of electrical equipment, including dimensions, fastening methods, and slab coordinates.
  • Model and coordinate electrical infrastructure, resolving model clashes with other trades.
  • Navigate through and interpret structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings for various occupancy types and spaces.
  • Perform technical calculations, including voltage drop and conduit fill.
  • Review design drawings and provide feedback to ensure requirements are met.
  • Understand and comply with the project schedule to submit deliverables and implement changes and revisions as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and ACC platform.
  • Understanding of drawing levels, references files, CAD tools, scaling, dimensioning, and cross-sectional interpolations.
