Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Nursing Unit Assistant.
This role is integral to the operations of healthcare delivery, providing essential support within the clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate within a team-oriented setting to execute clerical and receptionist tasks that enhance client care. Prioritize the needs of clients and their families above all other considerations. Carry out a variety of administrative duties, including: transcribing and processing physician orders liaising with other departments and facilities to coordinate client appointments and transport organizing client tests and managing results welcoming visitors and handling telephone inquiries, while prioritizing requests Compiling and maintaining client records, as well as facilitating client admissions and discharges. Execute timekeeping tasks and compile relevant statistics. Prepare and distribute various technical and non-technical reports and documents. Maintain an inventory of office supplies and ensure efficient filing systems.About the Community

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12, along with medical terminology training and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one (1) year of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Physical capability to perform the duties associated with the role. Proficient typing skills (minimum 40 wpm). Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively. Competence in operating relevant equipment. Familiarity with various computer software applications.Additional Information
The working hours, including days off and work area, may be subject to change based on operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
