Laboratory Assistant BSN

Vancouver Community College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Demonstrator BSN to join our team. As a Laboratory Demonstrator BSN, you will play a critical role in assisting instructors in the everyday operation of the laboratories, ensuring that all laboratory equipment and supplies are prepared and set up for scheduled laboratory periods.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with laboratory demonstrations, provide assistance to students, and help supervise laboratory activities.
- Respond to students' inquiries pertaining to laboratory matters and related subject material, referring students to instructors as required.
- Supervise examinations as directed.
- Perform a wide variety of tasks relative to the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Maintain safe conditions in the lab and classroom and work with hazardous materials in accordance with WHMIS requirements.
- Maintain inventory records, monitor, order, and receive equipment and supplies.
- Identify lab issues and concerns and collaborate with instructors to identify solutions.
- Maintain medication carts and the lab schedule.
- BSc. Nursing and 5 years' related experience and experience working with students in an educational setting or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.
- Current practicing member of the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.
