Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Residence/Shelter Team Leader. The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in a related field, such as Community Social Services, with a focus on mental illness, addictions, and special needs. A minimum of two years of recent experience working with individuals with mental health and addiction issues, as well as office experience, is required.

The ideal candidate will also possess a valid BC Driver's License, as well as certificates in Food Safe, CPR, and First Aid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, family members, and community contacts
  • Develop and implement housing and rehabilitation plans for individuals with mental health and addiction issues
  • Supervise and lead a team of staff members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services
  • Collaborate with community partners to develop and maintain relationships
  • Provide training and support to staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of programs and services
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity
  • Knowledge of community development principles and community dynamics
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, decision making, and problem solving
  • Ability to promote positive change and independence
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary team
