Daily Activities Overview

  1. Project Management & Technical Oversight
    • Oversee a range of transportation and traffic engineering initiatives, including traffic evaluations, parking assessments, road safety evaluations, signage and pavement marking assessments, community traffic management, and transportation demand strategies.
    • Assist Dillon's top technical professionals in executing projects for diverse public and private sector clients.
    • Offer specialized knowledge on various projects as part of interdisciplinary teams (comprising planners, project engineers, environmental specialists, and technologists).
    • Participate in proposal development and support other marketing and administrative initiatives.
  2. Professional Growth & Development
    • Dedicate time to personal growth and continuous professional education.
    • Support the career advancement of junior staff through technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
    • Enhance Dillon's corporate visibility by actively engaging in professional organizations and committees.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in civil engineering or urban planning, or a diploma in civil engineering technology with a focus on transportation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Planner, or Certified Engineering Technologist in Ontario, or able to qualify within a short timeframe.

Desired Experience

The ideal candidate should exhibit a strong interest and expertise in some or all of the following domains:

  • Transportation impact assessments
  • Parking analysis
  • Road safety evaluations
  • Traffic calming measures
  • Warrant assessments for traffic control devices
  • Familiarity with intersection performance software: Synchro, SIDRA
  • Active transportation and transportation demand management (TDM) initiatives
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Strong report writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
