Job Title: AI Engineer - Generative Solutions

As a key member of the Hearst Health Network team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative AI solutions that leverage large language models in the health technology domain.

You will work closely with our team of experts to develop AI applications that enhance content production and improve operational efficiency.

This is a unique opportunity to experiment and solve for multiple use cases, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the field of AI.

Responsibilities:
  • Solve internal and external customer problems using LLM technologies and tactics that balance speed, function, and long-term robustness
  • Work closely with clinical editors to develop more efficient and accurate content creation processes
  • Rapid prototyping of generative AI applications
  • Full-stack development from proof-of-concept to front-end UI
  • Evaluate, measure, and improve performance on a continuous basis
  • Collaborate with clinical editors to prioritize new use cases for development and obtain feedback on existing solutions
  • Work with data scientists to rigorously evaluate various strategies of optimizing prompts
  • Stay up to date on industry developments
Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of full-time software engineering experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Python
  • Experience with modern front-end web technologies
  • Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud computing
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Collaborative mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience building generative AI solutions with OpenAI (e.g. GPT-4 API)
  • Proficiency in leveraging RAG, chunking, and embedding techniques in AI solutions
  • Health technology domain experience
  • Experience working with clinicians
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $127,500– $178,500, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401K retirement plan, flexible spending and health savings account, 15 days of paid time off, 14 company-recognized holidays, paid volunteer days, 8 weeks of paid parental leave, and 10 weeks of paid bonding leave.
