About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Driver Evaluation Specialist. In this role, you will provide consultation, assessment, and treatment to clients referred to our Driver Evaluation Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, including physical assessments, visual and cognitive skills evaluations, and assessments for specialized driving equipment.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help clients safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders and advocate for clients' needs.
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS).
  • Minimum 2 years' clinical practice.
  • BCLS.
  • Completed the Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist Examination (CDRS), preferred.
  • Experience in driver evaluation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clinical experience working with older adults, preferred.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and protection of clients' personal health information and an understanding of related policies and best practices.
