Key Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Designer/Detailer, you will collaborate with the planning, production & sales department to measure, assess & sketch structural layout and details for new and existing tanks, bridges, and equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting architectural and structural drawings, analyzing blueprints and documentation for estimates, and using CAD systems accurately.
  • Entering materials list data for fabricators, creating/managing work orders, and coordinating with Quality Assurance and Production to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Troubleshooting drawing issues, developing drawings from concepts, assisting in project estimates, and providing guidance for complex engineering projects.
  • Reviewing shop drawings, communicating with customers/engineers, and collaborating with the Quality Department.
  • Participating in planning/estimating stages, maintaining good relationships, adapting to changes, and supporting sales/engineering as needed.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist/Technician (BSc., P. Eng., or CET.)
  • Knowledge of Safety PLC Systems and Safety Standards.
  • Proficiency in reading/interpreting welding blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manuals.
  • Expertise in fabrication procedures and analyzing technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills and customer orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Inventor, and AutoCAD for data file management and creation.
