Position OverviewAs a Senior Pharmacoeconomic Analyst within the Clinical Services division, you will be instrumental in delivering pharmacoeconomic insights that enhance pharmacy benefit management solutions from both clinical and financial viewpoints.
Your proficiency in evaluating and interpreting the cost-effectiveness and outcomes of diverse pharmaceutical offerings will guide critical decision-making processes, formulary management, and other cost containment strategies. This role will leverage data analytics alongside evidence-based medicine to pinpoint opportunities, execute initiatives, and assess outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct pharmacoeconomic evaluations and analytical frameworks, including but not limited to cost-effectiveness assessments and multi-criteria decision-making analyses.
- Contribute to the formulation and realization of strategic and research goals related to pharmaceutical expenditures and value-based initiatives.
- Perform or critically evaluate budget impact assessments for both new and existing pharmaceutical products.
- Develop and sustain pharmacoeconomic models while analyzing claims data to extract valuable insights.
- Lead the activities of a value assessment committee, including organizing meetings, gathering information, analyzing data, and presenting findings.
- Collaborate with team members to assess, evaluate, and prioritize pharmaceutical products for formulary inclusion and benefit management programs.
- Monitor industry trends, drug pricing, and healthcare regulations to evaluate their potential impact on pharmacy benefit management cost strategies.
- Assist in creating tools and methodologies to document the outcomes and value derived from pharmacoeconomic activities.
- Provide analytical support related to pharmaceutical value-based initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Engage in program planning, strategic initiatives, and business development efforts.
- May undertake additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, or a related discipline is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting pharmacoeconomic analyses within the pharmaceutical sector, healthcare consulting, or a pharmacy benefit manager is required.
- Experience in pharmacy benefits management, group insurance, or benefits consulting is preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities with various pharmacoeconomic methodologies, including proficiency in data analytics.
- Familiarity with health technology assessment (HTA) processes and guidelines is advantageous.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Resourcefulness in identifying potential challenges and proposing solutions proactively.
