Ranch Ehrlo Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to children, youth, and adults with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to participants, fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Develop and implement engaging activity plans that encourage participation and promote social skills, life skills, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with clinical professionals and unit managers to share insights and contribute to treatment plans and goal setting.
- Actively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and experiences to improve the care we provide.
- Teach essential life skills, such as self-care, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and building positive social connections.
- Resolve conflicts with empathy and use behavior management strategies to guide participants through challenges.
- Complete documentation and reports with accuracy and clarity, ensuring all agency standards are met.
- Perform other related duties as needed to support participants and the team.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Guide and support new employees, practicum students, and volunteers, as directed by the unit manager.
- Lead by example, representing the agency's values and demonstrating fairness, respect, and positivity.
- Collaborate and communicate with the multidisciplinary team when required.
Management of Resources:
- Contribute to the operational budget and unit's capital plan.
- Track and reconcile expenses, submitting receipts for approved expenditures.
- Ensure agency vehicle logs are completed accurately when needed.
- Maintain and care for assigned assets and resources, including buildings, vehicles, furnishings, and equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
- Prioritize, promote, and reinforce safe work practices, creating a secure environment for both participants and staff.
- Adhere to all agency and government regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.
Additional Requirements:
- The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
- Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.
