What is the opportunity?

As the Senior Director overseeing Shopping, you will spearhead the development and execution of our rewards initiatives within RBC's esteemed Avion Rewards program. Your leadership will be pivotal in crafting solutions that integrate seamlessly into our clients' shopping experiences, ensuring we remain central to their commerce activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a compelling vision for Shopping that aligns with organizational objectives and promotes technical excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion the Shopping vision among various stakeholders, illustrating how new business avenues can drive growth and enhance profitability in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Direct the strategic roadmap and future vision for the Shopping platform.
  • Ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience across all channels related to Shopping.
  • Exhibit dynamic leadership by collaborating with partners across the organization and guiding product teams focused on innovation and success.
  • Cultivate top talent and foster relationships with teams and potential candidates for future roles.
  • Provide guidance to Product Owners and facilitate integration with other product teams within the Avion business and RBC.
  • Collaborate with BFS SMT and Digital Leads to maintain alignment with overarching strategic objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving obstacles, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Promote a holistic approach to client-centric Shopping solutions.
  • Identify and implement best-in-class strategies to drive business value, working with Product Managers to develop actionable roadmaps.
  • Lead the establishment of OKRs and ensure delivery of business value to meet these objectives.
  • Take ownership of the roadmap creation and prioritize initiatives while remaining adaptable to changes.
  • Define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and subsequent release plans.

  • Proven experience in leading and developing digital tools.
  • Strong track record in executing large-scale, complex projects.
  • Technical curiosity and a commitment to building comprehensive digital solutions for clients and staff.
  • Ability to deconstruct complex concepts into manageable components.
  • Experience in leading significant transformational initiatives.
  • Skilled in assessing risks associated with future strategies and balancing them effectively.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, including product vision development, backlog management, and performance metric definition.
  • Passion for utilizing data to enhance product offerings.
  • Experience in designing innovative, scalable consumer products in collaboration with technology and design teams.
  • Capability to lead effectively in uncertain environments.
