Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Android Software Engineer to join our Global Customer eXperience (GCX) team. This high-performing group operates at the cutting edge of Technology, Streaming, and Entertainment, delivering exceptional digital experiences for our esteemed brands, including DiscoveryPlus and Max.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with fellow Android engineers, design teams, product managers, and program leaders to develop innovative features, address bugs, and manage technical debt.
  • Drive significant initiatives and contribute to the development of a high-performance streaming application.
  • Work alongside geographically diverse teams to execute critical projects and enhance app architecture.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment on goals and objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Android application development, with a strong emphasis on Kotlin.
  • Excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of product requirements and priorities.
  • A comprehensive grasp of scalable, testable, and resilient product design.
  • The ability to recommend enhancements and technical developments to improve our applications.
  • A willingness to learn and engage in cross-platform projects across multiple countries.
  • Familiarity with design and architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and SOLID principles.
  • Knowledge of TDD and relevant frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Mockito) is advantageous.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and adherence to development best practices.
