Job Summary

The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading the financial planning, forecasting, and analysis functions for the Mon Sheong Foundation. This role will oversee the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, provide consultation and guidelines to budget owners, and ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial planning and forecasting models to support business decisions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with department managers to support overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to accounting staff.
  • Work with direct reports to establish goals and performance objectives.
  • Support the CFO with special projects and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 5 years of related experience in not-for-profit environments with in-depth knowledge of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures.
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, highly organized.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly self-driven and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on challenging tasks and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business and financial reports.
  • A high level of commitment to customer service towards internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office software and Sage Accpac accounting software.
  • Experience in cost analysis is an asset.
