We are seeking a skilled Parts Counter Clerk to join our team at Freightliner North Bay. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our parts counter.
Responsibilities- Answer telephone calls and relay messages to customers and colleagues
- Clean and maintain the office, supply area, or warehouse to ensure a safe and organized work environment
- Conduct sales calls to promote our products and services
- Perform general office duties, including data entry and record-keeping
- Set up displays of retail parts and accessories to showcase our products
- Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Advise customers on the use and appropriateness of goods or parts
- Handle cash transactions and process payments
- Identify, label, and catalogue items received to ensure accurate inventory management
- Issue and distribute parts and supplies for internal use
- Maintain records on our inventory control system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
- Prepare and track work orders to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Prepare requisition orders to replenish parts and supplies
- Process incoming requisitions and ensure accurate processing
- Receive, unpack, and sort incoming parts, supplies, and materials
- Sell spare and replacement parts to customers
- Ship, deliver, or pick up parts, products, or equipment as needed
- Store items in the warehouse, tool room, or supply area to ensure a safe and organized work environment
- Computer and technology knowledge, including inventory control software, MS Office, and the internet
- Equipment and machinery experience, including industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts, pallet lifters, and heavy equipment
- Parts specialization, including heavy equipment
- Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
- Physical demands of the job include bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) or 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Steel-toed safety boots are required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, client focus, dependability, efficiency, flexibility, maturity, punctuality, and team player skills are essential
