As a leading institution in art, design, and digital media, OCAD U fosters a vibrant community of creative individuals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our commitment to innovation and excellence in education.
Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver engaging course content for the Story and Narrative Development Studio for Games course, focusing on the principles of effective game storytelling.
- Guide students through the process of crafting compelling narratives, exploring various narrative structures, worldbuilding techniques, and character development.
- Facilitate interactive learning experiences, incorporating lectures, critiques, and studio work to enhance student understanding and skill development.
- Promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and creative expression.
- Stay abreast of current trends and advancements in game narrative design.
- A post-secondary degree (Masters preferred) or equivalent professional experience in game design or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in game storytelling principles and practices.
- Familiarity with art and design concepts relevant to game development.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery for adult learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
