Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Service Worker to join our team at NEXUS Community Support Society. As a key member of our community services team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide education and support to clients, focusing on secondary education and life skills development.
  • Assist clients in achieving their goals and overcoming challenges, utilizing a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programs that promote community engagement and social inclusion.
  • Ensure clients receive necessary resources and referrals, including crisis intervention, first aid, and food safety training.
  • Conduct home visits and provide transportation support as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
  • Dental plan, disability benefits, health care plan, paramedical services coverage, vision care benefits, and life insurance.
  • As per collective agreement.
Work Environment

37.5 hours per week, with a focus on a healthy work-life balance.

English.
