Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Scarborough General Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents, while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security patrols and response to incidents within the hospital and surrounding areas
  • Display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance
  • Perform a variety of preventative and reactive duties, including interior and exterior patrols, and provide security escort services as requested
  • Investigate and follow-up on incidents, and write accurate reports upon completion of occurrences
  • Responsible for all office duties, including ID badge distribution, key distribution, and lost and found
Requirements
  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services
  • Proof of double Covid Vaccination
  • Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
Education Requirements
  • Minimum of a Police Foundations Diploma
  • Post secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience
  • Education in Law Enforcement or equivalent
Certification Requirements
  • Immunization Record
  • COVID Double Vaccinated
  • Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
  • Valid Ontario Security License
