Position Overview:
The IT Change Management Specialist is tasked with overseeing the change control framework, ensuring that modifications are accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with established standards. This role will facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, manage communications, generate reports, and conduct Production Defect Reviews (PDR) for any unsuccessful changes. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to customer agreements and business group compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Change Management:
- Evaluate changes for precision, thoroughness, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate the change management process, including organizing CAB meetings and managing schedules.
- Prepare CAB agendas and compile Change Management reports and metrics.
- Communicate CAB outcomes and Change Management events to relevant stakeholders.
- Engage stakeholders, both internal and external, in the Change Management process.
- Foster an environment conducive to open discussions regarding CAB and Change Management best practices.
- Establish success metrics and performance indicators for Change Management and Disaster Recovery initiatives.
- Provide training on Change Management processes and tools.
- Maintain and enhance Change Management templates and resources.
- Monitor Emergency Changes to ensure correct categorization.
- Participate in monthly Change Review and Validation meetings with IT and PMO.
- Review and update the Change Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regularly.
- Support Project Management and IS Teams in developing change management strategies for projects.
- Conduct testing and validation for any changes related to Change Management tools.
- Engage in internal and external audits as necessary.
Release Management:
- Contribute to implementation planning discussions.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of Release Implementation plans.
- Communicate release outcomes to stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve Release Management templates and resources.
Business Continuity:
- Lead the development of Business Continuity plans and Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business systems.
- Provide insights and solutions to mitigate risks and develop risk management strategies to prevent disruptions.
- Conduct regular testing exercises to validate recovery and contingency plans.
- Oversee IT recovery efforts during actual events, coordinating teams across the organization.
- Manage the Business Continuity risk analysis process and provide updates to the Business Resiliency Program.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to Disaster Recovery.
- Set and monitor critical IT recovery performance targets.
- Deliver training on Disaster Recovery management and Business Continuity best practices.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or Change Management.
- Certification in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery (ABCP, CBCP, or MBCI) is preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification is mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Business Impact Assessments and Risk Impact Assessments.
- Familiarity with Emergency Notification Tools.
- Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capability to collaborate with various departments.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours when necessary.
