Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments of patients to identify their physical status, functional abilities, needs, and goals.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to achieve optimal health outcomes, collaborating with the interprofessional care team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide education and consultation to patients and caregivers on self-management, health promotion, and injury/disability prevention.
- Participate in the interprofessional care planning process, ensuring effective care plans are established and implemented.
- Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions, modifying treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal functional independence and physical performance.
- Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to develop care plans, promoting patient autonomy and dignity.
- Maintain accurate records, including patient files and statistics on workload activities, summarizing information into written reports as requested.
- Delegate components of treatment to rehabilitation assistants, ensuring quality patient care and documenting the transfer of function.
- Act as a physiotherapy resource to other physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, and students, providing orientation and demonstrating procedures.
- Participate in team/program activities to enhance and optimize the delivery of care, promoting quality and safety principles.
Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) is required. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of physiotherapy theory and practice within a patient and family-centered model of care, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
