Position Overview

As a Retail Cashier at Alaska Highway Rescue Ltd., you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at our store.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, with a minimum of 1 to less than 7 months.
Work Environment

This position is set in a variety of retail settings, including:

  • Gas stations

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the cash register efficiently.
  • Process payments including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items and calculate total sales.
  • Receive payments and ensure accuracy in transactions.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of payments received with total sales.
  • Engage in suggestive selling to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the checkout area and stock shelves as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and greet customers warmly.
  • Wrap merchandise appropriately for customers.
  • Verify customer age for restricted products such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco.
