About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our team as a Construction Assistant at Fastway Construction. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Operations: Assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of construction materials, ensuring timely delivery and efficient use of resources.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Clean and lubricate cranes, perform routine maintenance work, and assist in the repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Material Handling: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Support Services: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, clean and pile salvaged materials, and tend to or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
  • Site Safety: Direct traffic at or near construction sites, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and physically demanding tasks.
  • Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, working at heights, and exposure to outdoors and noisy conditions.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Will train, but a secondary (high) school graduation certificate is preferred.
  • Experience: Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Schedule: 35 to 40 hours per week, with a regular schedule.
