About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Challenger Motor Freight Inc. as a key member of our procurement and supply chain team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee comprehensive procurement and material management standards, policies, and procedures for our group of companies.
- Implement and refine system processes to support consistent and effective procurement objectives.
- Manage requests for proposals/quotations, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements.
- Establish and maintain supplier, vendor, and contractor relationships to optimize procurement requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with key suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
- Review existing contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility and alignment with cost objectives.
- Initiate continuous improvement activities to enhance purchasing efforts.
- Provide guidance on sourcing and purchasing processes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in procurement management.
- Preference given to individuals with experience in large distribution companies.
- Diploma/Certification with a post-secondary institution in Finance, Business, or Accounting.
- SCMP Designation (Supply Chain Management Professional) considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
