Position Overview:

The Engineering Design Specialist will report directly to the Design Manager and will play a crucial role in the creation and refinement of engineering drawings, layouts, and plans derived from initial concepts, sketches, and existing designs.

Compensation:
$60,000 to $80,000 Based on Experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and finalize designs and technical drawings from initial ideas, sketches, and specification documents.

• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) systems for drafting and modeling tasks.

• Proficient in 3D modeling software, particularly Autodesk Inventor.

• Familiarity with file management systems such as Autodesk Vault.

• Design products with a focus on ease of manufacturing and on-site installation.

• Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) as required.

• Prepare comprehensive report packages and technical drawings for production.

• Review and validate design drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and design standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2-year diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design Technology from an accredited institution.

• Strong proficiency in 3D modeling software, especially Autodesk Inventor.

• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

• Skill in visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional representations.

• Experience in mechanical or industrial design is advantageous.

• Understanding of materials such as metals, plastics, and wood, along with relevant fabrication and construction standards.

• Comprehensive knowledge of drafting terminology, practices, and techniques.

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.

• The organization supports a 6-month training program to ensure success in the role.
