Key Responsibilities:- Implement rehabilitation programs for residents as directed by physiotherapists and recreation therapists.
- Develop and lead recreation programs that incorporate rehabilitation routines.
- Provide education and training to residents, families, and team members on proper rehabilitation and exercise techniques.
- Conduct assessments and submit reports for annual care conferences and individual program plans.
- Manage inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, and report any issues to the Director of Resident Programming.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of rehabilitation and recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback.
- Monitor and record changes in resident functional and cognitive behavior, and report to the direct care team.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics for reporting purposes.
- Recreation therapy or rehab aide degree/diploma required.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Long Term Care.
- Additional training in mobilization and rehabilitation is an asset.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift 25 pounds.
- Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residents.
- Completion of CPR certification.
- Clear Police Information Check.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof (waiver available for provincial exemptions).
