Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement rehabilitation programs for residents as directed by physiotherapists and recreation therapists.
  • Develop and lead recreation programs that incorporate rehabilitation routines.
  • Provide education and training to residents, families, and team members on proper rehabilitation and exercise techniques.
  • Conduct assessments and submit reports for annual care conferences and individual program plans.
  • Manage inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, and report any issues to the Director of Resident Programming.
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of rehabilitation and recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback.
  • Monitor and record changes in resident functional and cognitive behavior, and report to the direct care team.
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics for reporting purposes.
Requirements:
  • Recreation therapy or rehab aide degree/diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Long Term Care.
  • Additional training in mobilization and rehabilitation is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift 25 pounds.
  • Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residents.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Completion of CPR certification.
  • Clear Police Information Check.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof (waiver available for provincial exemptions).
