We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Orchard View Builders Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, preparing layouts, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites
  • Instructing apprentices and supervising other workers
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Physically demanding
  • Work with minimal supervision
Requirements:
  • Experience an asset
  • Permanent position
  • English language
  • 35 to 40 hours per week
